John Nuveen Center for International Affairs

The John Nuveen Center for International Affairs (JNC) was established at the University of Illinois (UIC) in December 1986 through an endowment from the Nuveen family. From it’s inception the JNC has developed and supported programs and activities designed to increase awareness and understanding of international issues and provide opportunities for the University community and the Chicago community at large to participate in international affairs.

Today the JNC is housed within the Office of International Affairs and continues this focus through programs like the Grace and John Nuveen International Award for students and the John Nuveen International Development Award for faculty. Keeping the vision of the JNC alive, OIA continues to work in coordinating international visitors and delegations and facilitating international linkages on campus. Contact us at for more information.
