Department of State’s Wonk Tank Student Competition

Wonk Tank is a competition platform for students (undergraduate and graduate) around the United States studying in all disciplines to pitch their foreign policy ideas directly to the U.S. Department of State, and the submissions window will close on February 19. Students identify a foreign policy problem, propose a solution, and address potential pitfalls while including a link to a brief YouTube video presenting their pitch. Four outstanding finalists will be notified on March 3 and be publicly announced while taking part in a Google Hangout during Global Partnerships Week 2016 (www.p3.co). The final Wonk Tank competition, open to the public, will take place on the afternoon of April 1. Also open to the public on April 1, the Department of State will host a university marketplace with current Diplomacy Lab partner institutions and teams in the morning.

We are now pleased to announce that the winning student will be awarded a paid internship at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. for summer 2016. Students can participate at www.diplomacylab.org/wonktank. You may use the attached document for circulation on newsletters, handouts, and other notices.
